2019 — The Opening
The Lodge opens at Barangaroo with 240 rooms and the first Crystal Salon.
2022 — The Villa Floors
Levels 59–67 become the Sky Villa residences and the rooftop helipad is certified.
2025 — The Vault & Spa
The 4,000-bottle cellar and two-floor thermal spa complete the resort.
Before & After the Build

The Material Palette
Every surface in the Lodge was chosen for how it ages — Sydney sandstone, brushed nickel, Tasmanian oak and linen that softens with the years.

Certified forestry timber, quarter-sawn for the floors and panels.

The Studio Above the Garden
Each quarter a working artist takes the north studio — this season, landscape painter Ada Nguyen, whose harbour studies now hang in the villa corridors. Her studio opens to guests every Wednesday and Saturday.

Ironbark Lodge is owned and operated by Ironbark Lodge Sydney Pty Ltd (ABN 63 481 907 254), led by owner Ellara Whitcombe — an independent Australian company, not a chain flag.
Yes — the concierge runs a weekly architecture tour covering the headland restoration, the material palette and the sculpture garden, plus open-studio hours with the resident artist on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The main floor welcomes visitors aged 18+ with photo ID; the Crystal Salons are reserved for members, villa guests and approved applicants. Our salon page explains the entry path.
